Starting my first office job after college felt like a dream because I was only 22, and my boss, Lisa, believed in me from the very first day by teaching me, trusting me with clients, and treating me like someone with real potential instead of just another new employee.
Everything was going well until Lisa’s husband, Mark, began visiting the office more often, especially when she was away, and while he seemed friendly at first, his questions slowly became personal as he asked about my apartment, my dating life, and kept finding reasons to stay near my desk, leaving me feeling uncomfortable even though I tried to stay polite and hoped he would eventually stop.
Things became much worse when Mark sent me a Facebook friend request followed by private messages complimenting my smile, asking if I had a boyfriend, and finally warning me not to tell Lisa because she would “get the wrong idea,” making it clear he knew exactly what he was doing, so after talking with my older sister I quietly saved screenshots of every message as evidence while still refusing to answer, believing that ignoring him would make everything disappear. Instead, his silence only made him bolder. The next time he walked into the office, there was nobody else around but me. Seconds later, he reached out and grabbed my hand just as the office door opened.
